Chapter 11

“I told you so,” Hayim said.

I wanted to punch him.

My great plan to sexually frustrate Sabrina worked perfectly and by Wednesday she was visibly tense. Thursday, I think she figured out what I was doing and got ominously calm. I got nervous. We were putting groceries away Saturday afternoon when she hit me with it: “I’m going out with Kathy tonight, alone, but we won’t stay alone. She’s meeting Teddy and I’ll meet Levi. I think at first it’s best if you’re not around so I didn’t invite you.”

I told her I agreed but I should probably know where and when in case something went wrong.

“Apex Social Club at the Palms. I’ll try to be home before four in the morning.”

My guts twisted. “That sounds like more than an introduction,” I said.

“Yeah.”

That’s all I got: Yeah. My wife was going out on a date. I’d looked up Levi on Teddy’s Facebook page and discovered he was about six-feet-four and two-hundred-thirty pounds. He had blonde hair like Thor and muscles to match. The pictures were older and apparently he’s off social media, so let’s hope he gained some weight and lost some hair since they were taken. Not that his penis would have shrunk. His vampire thong was packed like Teddy’s, the only difference being ten pounds of white meat instead of dark.

Yes, I was jealous.

Tormented is perhaps a better word. I don’t know. All I do know is Hayim and I sat now at Castaways nursing our drinks while our wives enjoyed the company of hot studs. It was agonizing. Hayim was right about the reality not matching the fantasy but he missed the mark; all this torture felt good.

I’d tried a million times to picture what my wife was doing at that moment but my brain always retreated. She left the house wearing a sparkly silver dress that was so short I saw the curve of her butt cheeks if she lifted her arms. Her bra was purely decorative, fish net style with fake diamonds set at every cross-stitch. Her sassy tits were plainly visible each time she leaned forward. I was hard as rock following her around the house as she got ready. She told me precious little about their plans, revenge, I think, for me withholding sex. After she’d gone I reentered the bathroom to clean up and spotted her forsaken panties next to her sink.

“I bet you’re horny though,” Hayim offered, snapping me back to the present. “Despite your obvious malaise.”

“Yes, you told me so, and yes, I’m fucking horny. My plan backfired. By denying her I also robbed me of sex, and I think I’d like how good I am in bed fresh on her mind right now instead of a distant memory.”

“Pure misery, right? I’m going through the same thing. Worse, maybe. You don’t know if Sabrina will like Levi but we all know Kathy loves Teddy. If the men got a room at the Palms, they could all be fucking right now.”

Goddamn it shut up, Hayim!

“You’re right,” I said calmly.
